A Bird and a Bee and an Eric
I have a schoolboy crush on the singer of “A Bird and a Bee.” She sang the “Again and Again” song that I squee’d all over, the fan-made Mac video with the cute girl in it.
Well my friends Myspace page had this new song on it, called “Polite Dance Song,” which is basically a really clever and breathy and sexy girl singing a dance song as politely as possible.

First of all, the people transitioning with sparkles is amazing amazing amazing. It sets up the video for some kind of special thing, because you see that it’s clearly ‘low production’ and then people are teleporting and doing crazy shit… so what’s going to happen? Also, an empty seat?
The progression is amazing, having the lady up first was awesome and set the tone quickly.
How great is that? The video had me in tears. As far as music videos go, I think it’s super simple and super clever. I have such a crush on the idea of ‘older people dancing…’ I put it in quotes because I don’t necessarily mean ‘dancing well.’ There’s something charming about… honestly, dancing like nobody’s watching but knowing you aren’t perhaps fit or able enough to do it as well as you like, but you’re still having a great time.
So many amazing moments in this, if I had the time I’d make them all into animated gifs. Also, if I posted with more then one livejournal icon, I would make all of these faces into LJ icons.
And, as a surprise surprise, This music video was directed by Eric Wareheim of Tim and Eric Awesome Show fame. It makes so much more sense now. Tim and Eric are really the masters of “Awkward American Comedy.” I say American because awkwardness is a popular subject type of British comedy but it’s not British in this case.
Also, an acute observation from Snowsaber reveals that the red shirt dancing guy looks a lot like the ‘this is what I do I sit on you’ guy. It’s probably the same person?
I want to cosplay everyone from this video. Does anyone want to do the cospray with me?

running into this video while looking for tim and eric stuff a while back is what made me fall in love with the bird and the bee. i think this is their best song

i already knew and liked Bird & the Bee and found the video and loved it. then, about a week later i discovered TIm & Eric and that film clip made sense completely.
and yep, i then realised that the amazing dancer is Palmer Scott of ‘Sit On You’ fame.
