Rob Pardo Leaves Blizzard after 17 years.
He posted his goodbye to the official Blizzard forums. This was fairly big news in my game dev circles.
Anime Expo Disaster
Anime Expo is in full swing. However, due to the printer issues that took place last night, it seems to have caused a huge back-up. That back-up carried over to today, and combined with record attendance numbers, a huge amount of people had a line backed up for more then half a mile. Here’s a video showing how long the line was. Note that there are lots of switchbacks that wind back and forth to pack in as many people as possible in smaller areas.
For some perspective, I figured out where the video started and ended and punched up the locations on Google Maps.
If you’ve ever been to a convention at the Los Angeles Convention Center, you realize how much of a clusterphuck this is.
Free Dungeons and Dragons
Wizard of the Coast release a free version of Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition, referred to as the “Basic Rules.” Now everyone can attack the darkness, for free.
‘Clarence’ Creator Skyler Page Kicked Out of Cartoon Network
Over the course of the past few days, a story has been developing about storyboard revision artist Emily Partridge being sexually assaulted by show creator Skyler Page. As time passed, and more information of the story came to surface, it painted a sad picture all around. Skyler did what he did, most likely as a result of a bipolar/potentially schizophrenic episode.
